The park proper

Even though the campground we stayed in was part of this state park, the main part of the park is separate and a few miles away.  But it's the main reason for being here, so...!

It's beautiful, is it not?!  This is the head spring basin, which produces up to 600 million gallons of fresh water/day!!!!!
And there go a bunch of people, swimming with alligators...!  (well, potentially...)  Yes, despite the warning sign about the large reptiles possibly hanging around, I swam in there on our first visit too!  Guess I got smarter (or more weenie?!) and stayed on terra firma this time.  Yeah right - only because I didn't bring my bathing suit with me!!!  It was hot and humid, and I was super sweaty and more than ready to jump in - gators be damned!
Pretty walkways with little cascades and lots of greenery around.

Soon, that would be me too.  But that's for another post...
 Cute little poser!

A very pretty place...
