Driving around Abbeville on same cloudy day...
Bayou Vermilion.
After crossing the bridge, you are in the old historic part of Abbeville, which has TWO town squares.
The first town square has a lovely brick courtyard ringed with giant, fern-covered oaks.
Neat buildings/architecture you often find in these neat old towns.
The depot.
Very pretty church.
And in the second town square, here's the courthouse, replete with plastic orange construction fencing - a photographic favorite!
The train tracks run right past the rice mill.
Cool little cemetery across from the rice mill.
Pretty house.

The oak tree looks like those we saw at Gold Head Branch State Park. Corkscrew branches. Think they are elder oaks. Interesting branch form.
ReplyDeleteThe trees and architecture is simple amazing.
