Zou found a friend at the campground! Mugs, a big ol' chocolate lab. The first time they went at it, they were both full-bore, playing in the mud and puddles. Zou needed a quick water bath afterwards!
There was no dog park in this campground, so they made their own, playing under the radar as it were... They were well-behaved and stayed close so weren't a problem or threat to anyone. And fortunately, the immediate powers that be were beneficent. We were alerted as to the other, more problematic element, which did visit the park now and then...
They didn't always romp as rabidly, but I was able to get a little play action this next time - I wanted to get some photos with my good camera (my point & shoot can't handle those actions shots too well, esp. on a cloudy, low-light day!).
This shot reminds me of a big boy bighorn sheep, rearing up and getting ready to ram! Look out Mugs!!! But he's ready for her and fully up to the challenge! Look out Zou!
Zou's all about playing with other dogs using toys. Here she's found a stubby stick to taunt him with. Many dogs get very possessive with toys - Zou's the opposite! Toys are for sharing! They're play tools!
And many dogs find Zou's "lion on the Serengeti" pose daunting! But not Mugs! As you can see in all these pictures, he just wades right in, and says "Bring it on! Gimme your best, little dog!" And she does!
A better stick.
Twig for Two.
Yeah, I think they're friends. What do you think?
Finding such a great dog buddy here made this place feel much more like a home!!
And funny thing, Mugs' folks were just as nice...
Great pics! Did they like the red fire hydrant?
