Travelers

So what are our traveling days like?  Well, we'll show you!
Like I said earlier, Scratty likes to ride behind the couch.  But once in awhile, she'll be behind our computers, under the desk.  This happened one day recently.  We took off with her still enjoying the computer hum and warmth.  But that is not her favorite "in motion" location, apparently.  I looked back and saw her back out "in the open," sitting next to Zou (who was on her dog bed between our seats).  She then decided she'd done enough communing and headed for the couch, Zou by her side.

Up and over the back, with Zou wondering "Why u do that?  Why u go down there?!"

Zou, ever helpful, poised to aid her dad with getting rid of extra sandwich...

Time to gas up!  While it does take A LOT of gas, we don't actually have to fill up very often because it holds A LOT of gas (100 gallons), and we don't actually drive it that much (just in between campground stops.  It's the truck that we drive a lot...).  Here we are, in the company of the big rigs.  Truck stops are definitely the easiest to get into, the fastest to pump - and they have lovely long-handled windshield washing squeegees!

I felt a little snoozy while we were on the road and splatted on the couch with Tractor.  When I got up, I left him the blankie...

Rest stop!  Tractor and Zou pile out - time for a walk!

We know that Scratty has hit her traveling stride now because, when I took Zou and Tracky back to the motorhome, guess who was out and ready for HER walk?!  I'd asked her on previous traveling days, but she always said no, preferring to remain in her under-couch coziness.  But today, she was right there when I opened the door!  "Get me dressed, take me out!"  Here she is enjoying a good roll in the dirt.

 Happy Cat!
We got back to the RV, I unhooked her, and she resumed her subterranean situation.

And Tractor and Zou resumed their above-ground perch.  This harmonious scene sure reminds me of another one, just a few years ago...

In our first motorhome, with our beloved Ouraydog...  The more things change, the more they stay the same??  Ouray would growl at the cats' intrusions, but he always put up with them.  Zou doesn't seem to mind them at all.  Bears saying again ~ we are so lucky to have our Zou!!  Not all dogs could even begin to fill OurayBear's shoes, but Zou can and does.  We know Ouraydog would approve!
