Yeah, well, y'all knew we had been heading east and just left New Mexico, so... But still! While it does snow in Alpine occasionally, it was certainly an unexpected surprise - and what a treat!!!
Texas-style snow removal equipment. Hey, adaptability is a good thing!
This is where Carrie asks Bill once again "How tall are we?!" Funny how short some bridges can look...!
Downtown Alpine.
Snow makes this town look much more charming (for the drier version, see photos from our previous visit: http://carriebartonphotos.blogspot.com/2010/03/howdy-yall.html).
The RV park is called "The Lost Alaskan," and normally that would be a pretty clever, amusing name. But today...? Seems like maybe he's not so lost after all!
Getting shown to our site (some campgrounds just give you a map, some provide you with an escort).
Four Amigos.
(new friend Roy, friend Ron we met in Colorado a few years ago, and you know the rest!)
Tractor is not so keen on the snow, so Daddy rescues him.
Scratty, on the other hand, is fine with it. Guessing it has something to do with extra insulation...
Sometimes it's good to be a Fatty Scratty...
Hangin' out with the guys...
Looks like Christmas, don't it?
Zou and instant-buddy Rocco rock it out in the "Paw Paw Park"
I took a little liberty and let the sunset be a little stronger (and earlier!) than Nature was going to provide! Look, I'm tired of her pissing all over my photography plans! Isn't that what Photoshop is all about anyways?!! Everyone else is doing lots more with it than this! OK, so I hardly ever do stuff like this, and "this" isn't very extreme! Just slightly more colorful... But I like it, and it probably looks about like it would if there HAD BEEN more of a break on that cloudy horizon! I like real scenes. This might be fudging it ever so slightly, but heck, it's MY blog!
The next morning, on our way out...
We were only in Alpine the one night, and we chose not to unhook our truck, so that's why all my photos were either in the campground or through the RV windshield!
